Country Cupboard in Streator

This is quite literally one of the best places I've ever been. The people are so friendly and interactive. The food is amazing. The open atmosphere makes it easy to communicate with other customers. It's an amazing place to go to and I can't wait to come back.

Amazing as always I can't quite get off of the grilled cheese and roast beef sandwich to order anything else but every time something went by my table it looked wonderful. the little old lady that's 80 or 90 that still making pies whipped up a strawberry cream cheese pie and I bought the whole thing. Mmm good!

Hidden away down a side street in downtown Streator is a long established cafe. Famous for pie. It has a menu full of favorite midwestern fare. Food is plentiful. Thursdays special, meatloaf, came with soup, a side and choice of potato and dessert (pumpkin bar or brownie). The food was good but not exceptional. The side of baked beans outshined the meatloaf easily which was in need of some flavor and slightly dry. The chicken noodle and cream of cabbage soup were both tasty after the addition of a little salt. I'm excited about returning for breakfast. I suspect that they will really shine in that area. You won't find any surprises just a well balanced menu that doesn't overwhelm with too many choices. Homey food and atmosphere are reassuring and service is very good. Definitely a return visit is in order.

Family oriented, everyone in town loves Country Cupboard. It is always packed but the waitresses are lovely, service is fast, they will make any and all exceptions to please. Food is pretty great too, but could use more healthy options.

I go here constantly (so much that i dont even have to order my drink). The staff is always friendly and the food is always great. They also have the best philly cheese steak that ive tried.

Excellent food, prices & service!! I wasn't expecting much. It was a very pleasant surprise!! The waitress was very busy, bit still did an Awesome job of getting our meals quickly. There were 5 of us in the restaurant & I ordered 2 to go meals.

Good- I love that I can order lunch 1st thing in the morning! Working midnights, I don't always want breakfast food because for me it's dinner time. My meals are always hot and most everything I have ever ordered from there has tasted good. Bad - #1 I ordered a side of white gravy for my chicken fried steak sandwich and I might as well have just ordered a cup of warm milk. The gravy was very runny and it had absolutely zero flavor. I had to add salt and a ton of pepper to give it flavor. And dipping my sandwich in it was challenging because it was so runny it didn't stick. Bad - #2 The wait staff isn't always as friendly as other places I frequent. I feel like I'm rushed when placing my order and like I'm inconveniencing them just by being there. I asked what came on the chicken fried steak sandwich and the waitress acted as if I should know and kind of grumpily told me what other people have put on theirs.

Local diner..Friendly service ..coffee refills very prompt. Only complaint breakfast could have been served warmer... just barely warm..

My family always has to come here when we come home from Wisconsin! The staff is kind, the business (albeit outdated and in need of some cosmetic upgrades) always feels like your grandma's kitchen; safe, warm and inviting. The food is always good too!

Didn't care for the food. Once upon a time it was one of the best place to enjoy a meal, but things have changed. Too bad. Everything use to be home-made and I would love eating there. Plus the waitdress was abrupt with me.

Used to be great. Over the last 6 months theres been dozens of people seeing cockroaches coming out of the wainscoting around the room. My husband watched roaches walk 1/3 of the way up the wall and the wait staff did nothing. Told them we saw bugs and the brushed us off. My family does not go there anymore.
